Microsoft has finally revealed their Xbox Live Arcade South Park game they announced at E3. And the title of that game? “South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play!” Phew. As the name suggests, the title is indeed a Tower Defense game. It will be released on October 7th to coincide with the all-new season of the South Park TV show.

What’s a Tower Defense Game you ask?

A Tower Defense game (TD or TDG) is a subgenre of real-time strategy (RTS) games. The goal is to try to stop enemies from crossing the map by building towers which shoot at them as they pass. Enemies and towers usually have varied abilities and costs. When an enemy is defeated the player earns money or points, which are used to buy or upgrade towers.

Now picture the above in the world of South Park . . . madness.

As you’d expect, the game will be fully unveiled Comic-Con 2009 and the game is being described as a “fast-paced action/strategy game that combines these lovable characters with snowball battles and tower defense tactics.”

If you are attending Comic-Con and want to hear much more on the game, then be sure to stop by the “Save South Park One Snowball at a Time” session which takes place at 3:30PM on Saturday, where people from both Microsoft Game Studios and South Park Digital Studios will be on-hand to discuss the title.
