Lego Indiana Jones 2 will include co-op level creation

Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues will include a two-player co-op level creation mode according to Joystiq.

This news comes out of a report at the Develop conference which revealed that the level creation mode will allow two players to cooperatively create stages “simply by playing” . . . whatever that means. The feature will not be included on all platforms however and neither will you be able to share levels with friends, which is a bummer. Platforms that will include the level creating include the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii versions.

This is a very cool idea and something that should’ve been implemented a long time ago in the Lego games when you think about it. After all, these games are based on a license that’s all about BUILDING things, so it’s great to see the LittleBigPlanet-style of level creation entering the Lego franchise. And hopefully these kind of level creation features will keep coming, as the developers were apparently inspired by LittleBigPlanet (and I’m sure by their own experience building things out of Legos).

On a sidenote, as I state in my Lego Indiana Jones review, I loved the heck out of that game. It is one of the only games in my Xbox 360 collection where I actually have nearly all of the Achievements (and I got it for free!). I only have a few to go. They’re very tedious but I had fun earning them still. I got way too mileage out of that game on the Xbox 360. More than should be legal. The games are FUN! I still need to track down Lego Batman . . .
