Activision has revealed the new Guitar Hero 5 drum and guitar controllers for the upcoming 5th game in the series which will be released on September 1st, 2009 on Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2.
For the drum controller, the set has a new high hat design, the controller panel for the device has been moved from the top of the drum area to the bottom. There’s also a Rock Band style brace bar that will secure the pedal to keep it from moving while you drum. The drum pads also appear to be elevated as you can see in the picture above.
For the guitar, which you can see in the picture to the right, it basically looks the same but it has some differences that aren’t as noticeable. The neck used to be analog buttons but now it is completely digital. According to Activision this means that the neck is now “100 percent accurate”.
Additionally the Strum Bar has also been internally redesigned so that it is now much more durable, according to Activision. The Whammy Bar has also been redesigned (albeit subtly) and fake chrome tuners have been added (instead of being fake plastic).
Activision also revealed some new Guitar Hero 5 songs.
