THQ*ICE (a joint venture between THQ and ICE, a Shanghai-based MMO publisher) has announced that the closed beta for Dragonica Online has now started. It will run from today until July 14th. Sign-ups are available on the Dragonica Online website, Dragonica Online Twitter or Dragonica Online Facebook Group.
If you’ve never heard of the game, here are some details:
* Free side-scrolling MMO action game.
* Unlike traditional MMO’s, in Dragonica players will run, jump and attack as in a action/platformer.
* Combo strings for each successful blow are counted, the higher the combo the more experienced gained.
* A Monster Counter keeps track of how many enemies you’ve successfully toppled in succession. If you don’t fall yourself before the end of the combo you will earn treasure chests with better loot.
* Earn Friend Points by playing in a party of four. You can redeem them for experience points.
* The game contains a Crafting System.
* The game contains Achievements, called “Accomplishments” here.
* The game will go into open beta this Summer, where anyone can join.
* The game is set for launch this Fall.
