Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii fighter getting a U.S. release

Tatsunoko vs Capcom coming to the U.S.!

It has been revealed via Nintendo Power that Tatsunoko vs Capcom for Wii IS COMING to the West!

Although it hasn’t been 100% confirmed the source seems pretty clear and given that this is coming from Nintendo Power themselves (via a leaked scan ahead of the printed issue) it seems almost assured that it IS real.

We’ll find out soon but collaborating the reveal is the fact that Capcom announced their E3 list as follows while listing TWO mystery games, one of which is apparently Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Dark Void (PS3, 360, PC)
Lost Planet 2 (currently 360, PC)
Dead Rising 2 (will be “behind closed doors”)
Spyborgs (Wii)
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles (Wii)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP)
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (digital release for PS3, 360)
Fate Unlimited Codes (digital PSP release)
Street Fighter IV (PC)
Bionic Commando (PC)
Mega Man Star Force 3 (DS)
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil (Wii)
Capcom Mystery Game #1 (playable in booth!)
Capcom Mystery Game #2 (announced at a press conference!)

This would also be a huge deal for a number of reasons. 1) It would prove that not only is Capcom listening to fans but they are also willing to do the super hard work necessary to get a game like Tatsunoko vs Capcom over here to please their Western fans. A game that was considered impossible to get licensed due to the many anime characters involved that all have different license holders outside Japan, some of which have never even been released in Western countries. 2) This would be HUGE news following on the heals of the Marvel vs Capcom 2 re-release on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. 3) It shows that Capcom is willing to invest in the VS series of games which are held dear by many Capcom fans.

So if THIS is possible, what may be next? Do you think it’s possible we may see a Marvel VS Capcom 3 or Capcom vs SNK 3, especially if Tatsunoko vs Capcom sells well?
