Ninja Gaiden 3 will be multiplatform on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with the possibility of Wii or other formats according to the new Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi.
In an interview with Kikizo, he talked about how Team Ninja wants to take the series to the next level and to “all-new audiences”. Which you can take to mean it most certainly won’t be Xbox 360-exclusive like it was under former boss Tomonobu Itagaki (who stated that Ninja Gaiden 2 would be the last in the series).
“Regardless of what Itagaki-san said before, in time, what the consumers, the gamers are looking for is going to be the next chapter — the future of an outstanding series,” said Hayashi (who has previously worked on Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword). “We feel that we’re in a position of being able to make that call, and to provide pure entertainment that’s going to be enjoyed by action gamers and our fans. That calling is already there — we feel it, and therefore we will continue to work towards a future for the series. We’re going to have to push ourselves to the next level, and we are better off giving both audiences an entirely new game.”
Definitely good news. Now we only need to speculate on exactly WHICH systems the game will be released on. Do you think it will come to the Wii?
