The Whispered World has been unveiled for PC by Deep Silver and Daedelic Entertainment.
The graphically pretty adventure title will release this May in most European countries and in other territories later this year, although a date wasn’t specified.
The Whispered World is a “beautiful adventure game” that whisks the player away to a fascinating fantasy world. Sadwick is a young clown but often far from cheerful. One night, a strange blue creature speaks to him in a dream, and sends him on an adventurous journey. Many dangers await Sadwick, for the world he knows is doomed to crumble and fall.
Graphically the game is inspired by beautiful animated films such as Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and includes hand-painted backgrounds, “filled with animated details and lovingly crafted characters” that bring the story to life in “a mix of fairy-tale elements with melancholic tones to create a tale of epic proportions.”
Gameplay-wise players point and click their way through the game’s various environments controlling Sadwick and his companion Spot through the game, solving puzzles and using the small Spot to help you. Spot can take on many different forms throughout the game. Forms that the player can pick and choose to change him into at will once the forms have been learned.
