You may remember John Woo’s Stranglehold, a videogame sequel to the film Hard Boiled that was released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2007.

Well now that game is being made into a film itself by none other than John Woo according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The script is being worked on by writers Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio. Although there is no further details on casting, release date or anything else.

Given the correlation between Hard Boiled, the Stranglehold game and now the upcoming movie, it’ll be interesting to see the direction John Woo takes with it.

Here’s a quote from his review: “Stranglehold will give you intense, non-stop action, cinematic gunplay and massive destruction all over! It’s incredibly awesome and satisfying to see a game that’s a sequel to a movie, yet still features the choreographed action and freeze framed sequences that John Woo is known for.”
