Japanese magazine Famitsu has revealed Sega’s upcoming WiiWare platformer “Pole’s Big Adventure”.

The game is a satirical look at the classic video game platformer with lots of crude humor, in-jokes and 100 hidden gags that are a throwback to everything you know and love from your gaming childhood, although most of the game seems to be poking fun at the Super Mario Bros. series. It contains lots of fun stuff like the ability to grow beyond the size of the screen if you eat 100 mushrooms.

The game is being developed by Takao Miyoshi who was the producer on Phantasy Star Universe and is scheduled for release in Japan exclusively for WiiWare on February 3rd, 2009 for 500 Wii Points ($5). The game does not yet have a Western release date but it looks promising so hopefully it’ll make its way here. I think the days of Japanese exclusives are wearing thin so hopefully this game won’t be one stuck in the old ways.

Here are two gameplay videos of the game in action thanks to wiiware-world and youtube.
