You may remember that LucasArts was working on a new Indiana Jones game for Xbox 360 & PS3 going back three years now to E3 2006.
Word has recently spread on the Internet thought that the game had finally been canceled after lurking in the shadows for quite a while (that is, no one had heard anything about the game and no new information on the game had been released). These reports on the game’s demise were spear-headed by IGN.
However in talking to Joystiq, LucasArts says the game is still on and that details of Indy’s next now current-gen adventure are forthcoming. To quote:
“LucasArts remains absolutely committed to the Indiana Jones franchise. While we are aware that fans have been eagerly awaiting additional information on the upcoming game, they can rest assured that details are forthcoming.”
Further complicating things is the fact that French site LiveWii has reported that they’ve gotten their hands on a release schedule from Activision (who publish’s LucasArts games in Europe) and that on the list is a Wii game entitled “Indiana Jones and the Sceptre of the Kings” for release in June.
Hmmm . . . I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
