Final Fantasy XIII has finally truly been unveiled with the first in-game screenshots of the title being released.
Most of the screenshots for Square’s next opus are from the game’s token battles and give us an early glimpse into the battle system and how it will look. Which I’m glad to see that it looks more traditional than that of Final Fantasy XII.
The screenshots were revealed in Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu who got the exclusive worldwide scoop and thus they are simply scans off the pages of the magazines. This means that you can’t truly tell how good the game will look. But the screens are high-quality for scans regardless.
Final Fantasy XIII is currently without a set release date, having only the vague “2009” date for Japan with a “To Be Announced” every else, which means we very well may not get the game this year.
