Square Enix has confirmed that they will be releasing Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for DS in North America, finally giving solace to those fans who may have been a bit worried at the possibility that it wouldn’t be seeing release stateside.

This comes on the even of the December 2nd release of “Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories” for the PS2, which is an updated version of the original Game Boy Advance game.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for DS is the first title to introduce players to a multiplayer mode for up to four-players locally and is set between the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2. The game follows KH2 character Roxas while he was a member of Organization XIII, and as is the series’ trademark, will take place across a wide variety of Disney universes.

Although Square has announced that the game is indeed coming to America, they did not announce any specific release date for the game, or even a release window for that matter. But the game is scheduled to release in Japan in February.

Other future Kingdom Hearts games include the PSP title, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and the mobile phone game Kingdom Hearts Coded.
