February 2009 update: Resident Evil 5 producer, Masachika Kawata, visited Capcom Europe’s office in London for interviews while it was snowing outside. Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi told Official PlayStation Magazine “I think Resident Evil 5 doesn’t need to change the series, but Resident Evil 6 will have to reinvent the series with another full model change or else it won’t be able to keep on going.”
Another Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata told The Gadget Show “We haven’t decided whether we’re going to make Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years [to make Resident Evil 6], but hopefully only four.”
