How to unlock all secret Mario Super Sluggers characters? That question will be answered in this guide that shows you who to unlock to get the full roster and how to do it.
Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding character, noting that there are multiple ways to unlock some characters.
Below we’ve listed each character in alphabetical order and how to unlock them:
1. Baby Daisy
To unlock Baby Daisy, you need to have Wario use his magnet to pull out the baby rattle from the fountain at Peach Garden. After this, use Yoshi and go through the manhole cover on the left side of the garden, where you will find a crying baby. The baby is, of course, Baby Daisy! Finally, give her the rattle. She will then be unlocked.
2. Baby DK
To unlock Baby DK, you need to use Yoshi’s power at the DK Jungle stage to free Baby DK from the palm tree. He will then be unlocked. Alternatively, you can defeat DK’s team to unlock Baby DK.
3. Baby Luigi
To unlock Baby Luigi, you need to pull the levers in Mario’s Stadium. This will connect the bridge and unlock Baby Luigi.
4. Baby Mario
To unlock Baby Mario, you must first have unlocked Baby Luigi. After that you need to save Baby Mario, who is located at the field where you battle Bowser Jr.’s team.
5. Baby Peach
To unlock Baby Peach you must use Princess Peach’s Heart power on the grass statue of Toad that you will find at Peach Garden.
6. Birdo
To unlock the Yoshi-like Birdo, you must defeat Bowser Jr. at Yoshi Park.
7. Blooper
To unlock Blooper, you must use Princess Peach’s Heart power on water at the dock in Mario Stadium where you see the bubbles. This will unlock Blooper. Alternatively, you must successfully complete all the tutorials in Practice mode. This will also unlock Blooper.
8. Blue Noki
To unlock the Blue Noki, you must successfully complete Blue Noki’s task at Mario’s Stadium.
9. Blue Pianta
To unlock the Blue Pianta, you must get the key. Afterwards you need to save the Blue Pianta that you’ll find at the shop in Mario’s Stadium.
10. Blue Shy Guy
To unlock the Blue Shy Guy, you need to shoot the Piranha Plants at Yoshi’s Ballpark.
11. Boo
To unlock Boo, you need to use DK and Wario to solve the block puzzle at Wario City.
12. Daisy
To unlock Princess Diasy, you need to successfully complete Peach’s Stadium.
13. Funky Kong
To unlock Funky Kong, you will have to save funky monkey from the Hammer Brother at DK Jungle. And on a personal note, I think it’s awesome that they actually added Funky Kong to a modern Nintendo game. It’s about time!
14. Goomba
To unlock the token Mario enemy known as the “Goomba”, you must help the poor pathetic thing trace his shop at Wario City.
15. Gray Shy Guy
To unlock the Gray Shy Guy, you must use Princess Peach to get him out of the log he is hiding in at Yoshi Park.
16. Green Koopa
To unlock the Green Koopa, you must free him from the poster at Wario City.
17. Green Noki
To unlock the Green Noki, you must first unlock the Blue Nokie and have him on your team. After doing so, talk to the Green Noki at the beach at Mario’s Stadium.
18. Green Toad
To unlock the Green Toad, you need to successfully complete Toadette’s puzzle. Afterwards, search the bush at Peach’s Stadium.
19. Green Yoshi
To unlock the Green Yoshi, you must free him. He’s located at the manhole at Yoshi’s ballpark.
20. King Boo
To unlock the king of the Boos, you must talk to the “Tiny Boos” whom you will encounter via a chest at Wario City.
21. King K. Rool
The boss of the original Donkey Kong Country finally returns in Mario Super Sluggers! To unlock this imposing bad guy, you must defeat all four of the token Donkey Kong Country “Kritter” enemies at DK Jungle. After you have done so, then go to the waterfall. You will encounter and subsequently need to defeat King K. Rool to unlock him.
22. Kritter
To unlock the Donkey Kong Country enemy known as “Kritter” in Mario Super Sluggers, you need to beat King K. Rool at DK Jungle.
23. Monty Mole
To unlock Monty Mole, you have must use Peach on the Monty outline that you will find on the beach at Mario Stadium.
24. Paragoomba
Flying Goomba ahoy! To unlock Paragoomba, you need to use Yoshi’s ground pound move on one of the palm trees in Wario City.
25. Paratroopa
The original “grounded-turned-to-flying” Mario enemy is also in Mario Super Sluggers. To unlock the Paratroopa, you need to defeat the minion who you will find guarding the lighthouse at Wario City.
26. Peach
To unlock Peach, you must successfully complete Peach’s Stadium. Then the eternally “peachy” one will be yours to play as.
27. Pink Pianta
To unlock the Pink Pianta, you need to make your way to Mario Stadium where you will find the Pink Pianta in a palm tree on the beach.
28. Red Noki
To unlock the Red NOki, you must first unlock the Blue Noki and Green Noki and have them on your team. After doing so, talk to the Red Noki on the giant clam at Mario’s Stadium.
29. Red Paratroopa
To unlock the red version of the Paratroopa, you must find the paintbrush at Yoshi Park. After finding it, use it to paint the giant billboard at Wario City.
30. Red Shy Guy
To unlock the Red Shy Guy, you need to shoot the Piranha Plants at Yoshi’s Ballpark.
31. Red Yoshi
To unlock the red-colored Yoshi you need to find the brush that the Red Yoshi lost. After you do, you will then encounter him at Yoshi’s Stadium.
32. Tiny Kong
The shortest member of the Kong family returns in Mario Super Sluggers, she hails from the N64-exclusive Donkey Kong 64. To unlock her, you must defeat Bowser Jr. at DK Jungle.
33. Toad
Ever since Super Mario Bros. 2, Toad has been my favorite Mario character. Sadly, the little guy seems to always get overlooked, having to often play second-fiddle to the supposedly more popular Mario characters. But thankfully, the original mushroom dude is playable in Mario Super Sluggers. To unlock Toad, you simply need to start Peach’s Stadium. “I’m the best!”
34. Toadette
Toadette was the first “obviously female” version of Toad and made her debut in Mario Kart: Double Dash for the GameCube. She also appears in Mario Super Sluggers. To unlock Toadette, you must talk to her at Peach’s Stadium. She’ll then be unlocked.
35. Waluigi
Waluigi is to Luigi what Wario is to Mario, and made his debut in the non-Nintendo developed (It was made by Camelot) Mario Golf on the Nintendo 64. Ever since then though, he has made his way into the long list of core Nintendo characters. To unlock Waluigi, you must find him on top of a skyscraper in Wario City.
36. Wiggler
To unlock Wiggler, you need to reset the roller coaster that he is riding at Yoshi Park. Alternatively, you can win a game at Toy Field to unlock Wiggler.
37. Yellow Pianta
To unlock the Yellow Pianta you must find him inside a barrel at Mario Stadium.
38. Yellow Yoshi
To unlock the yellow-colored Yoshi, you need to use the original green-colored Yoshi to get Yellow Yoshi out of a tree that you will encounter at Yoshi’s Park.
