As you may know, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames features co-op that allows 2 players to play through the campaign game together online in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions; the game itself is also coming to PC and PS2 on August 31, 2008. This co-op mode is seamless “drop in drop out”. When a player joins anothers player’s game the player is able to choose which mercenary to play as (but can not be the same as the host). The game does not go to a load screen and start the players off in a new area. Instead the player will join the host no matter what he is doing in his game. Every single misson and activity in the game can be completed in co-op. A 1/2 kilometer tether has been added to keep the players from straying too far away from each other.
