Burnout Paradise bikes update coming in September 2008

Burnout Paradise now had motorcycles!

The bikes update for Burnout Paradise is releasing this September 2008 and there are some HUGE, HUGE changes in store for fans of the game. And even if you haven’t picked up the excellent racer yet, you may want to after reading this.

The Burnout Paradise Bikes Pack (formally known by the codename “Davis”) is set to fundamentally change the game in an number of crucial ways. Developer Criterion has gone so far as to say that with this pack, and others, they are doing the most to change the series since it’s inception THIS YEAR. And best yet, the Bikes Pack will be FREE.

Burnout Paradise on PS3Here is a list of the awesome changes that await with the Bikes Pack.

* For the first time in Burnout, you’ll get to ride motorcycles! The FV1100 Street Bike and the stunning Japanese Firehawk racing bike will be available from the nearest junkyard in Paradise City on day one.

* A new day-and-night cycle will be added to the game so you can race the city streets at night! Criterion says they’ve wanted to have night in the game from the second they added the first prototype bike, and now they’ve delivered on that with this update. They say that the city takes on a life of it’s own when you get to see it at night once then rush hour traffic thins out.

* A new variation to the “Burning Routes” challenges have been added. During the day if you beat the target times on specific routes you’ll complete “Burnout Rides”, the big change being that these routes feature multiple checkpoints that will take you all over the city. At night you’ll have to complete a different set of routes for the “Midnight Rides”.

* An all-new Dynamic Weather system has been added! So if you’re tired of seeing Paradise City always swathed in sunshine, then you’re going to love the new cloudy days! This is another Burnout first!

* Criterion have created 70 all-new challenges specifically for the motorcycles! 35 of them are timed, multi-part challenges, the kind introduced in last month’s free Cagney update.

Criterion has stated that they have taken huge steps to change Burnout in fundamental ways through continued support via Downloadable content. And fans have raved on about the excellent support that Criterion is giving them. Criterion has said that they will only continue to support Burnout Paradise with even more amazing changes, just as they did prior to the Bikes Pack with the Cagney Feature Pack which added 3 new online game modes, two new cars, a live news page and calender, 70 all-new timed multi-part challenges and a complete overhaul of the Online Racing System, among other improvements.
