Need for Speed: Undercover is the name of the newest installment (#12) in EA’s extremely popular Need for Speed racing series, developed this time by EA Black Box. It is set for a release on November 17th, 2008 for nearly every system known to man, including: Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, PC, iPod, iPhone and cell phones.
Need for Speed: Undercover will be more action-oriented this time around where dangerous, high-speed encounters are the name of the game via a new highway battle mode. The game will also include an open-world and hopes to improve on all previous aspects of the game.
EA has stated that they were disappointed with ProStreet, and they hope to take Need for Speed back to it’s roots with Undercover; Where they also plan to bring in more innovation to the gameplay. And hopefully this games longer development cycle will allow that to happen.
In addition, Need for Speed: Undercover has taken inspiration from films such as The Transporter, and will include a large narrative embedded into the structure of the game.
