Midway’s The Wheelman has been delayed to 2009, first quarter (or Q1 ’09). The game is scheduled for release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC from Vin Diesel-founded studio Tigon Games and publisher Midway.
This is due to the fact that many people who played the Vin Diesel-fueled game at E3 2008 thought that it needed some more time to polish it up before it was released to the masses. Originally the game was scheduled for this fall, but it looks like Midway has listened and will be taking the extra time to spruce the game up. Which is always a welcome development if you ask me.
The new release date will also still allow you to play the game before the movie of the same name hits theaters.
The Wheelman combines spectacular Hollywood-style stunts with a “gripping storyline” that provides “adrenaline-fueled, cinematic thrill ride guaranteed to leave you breathless”. Vin Diesel stars as an undercover agent and highly skilled driver who has to infiltrate the Barcelona underworld, gathering intelligence for a covert heist. But while posing as a driver-for-hire, Diesel ends up caught in a crossfire of corruption and chaos while trying to stay one-step ahead of the local law enforcement, as well as rival gangs that want him dead.
