Rage trailer shows id Software’s future games will be published by EA instead of Activision

EA & id. Bedfellows at lastOne of the longest standing partnerships in the video game industry has been between id, the famous developers of everything Doom and Quake, and publisher Activision, the eternal rival of Electronic Arts.

But things they are a ‘changin’. During EA’s E3 address they announced an all-new partnership with . . . none other than id Software!

The first game to be effected by the deal is id’s first new IP in over a decade, known only as Rage, a first-person shooter-on-wheels that uses the id Tech 5 engine and has only briefly been seen in the original Rage debut trailer and will now be published by EA.

Sadly the new trailer, which shows of the EA and id logos side-by-side, uses mostly recycled material but either way it’s still great to see the game in action. Check it out below.
