Guitar Hero IV’s songs will feature the option to use more instruments to play them than just the guitar. Publisher Activision has confirmed this when talking about Neversoft’s next game.
In the May issue of Conde Nast Portfolio, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said, “It’s not just about guitars. We’ll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally.” MTV Games’ Rock Band has done it successfully last year, and it’s not a huge surprise Activision would follow with the Guitar Villain and Drum Villain rumors from late 2006. Well, except that the next game is still titled Guitar Hero IV and not Rock Band Hero.
The interview goes on to talk more about that game, saying: “It’s not just about guitars. We’ll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It’s the first game we’ve had in which we can use local content and local bands.” So look out for a more international range of songs. — Via 1UP
