This week’s new games are:

Yoshi's Cookie on NESYoshi’s Cookie (NES, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points = $5): This classic Nintendo puzzler puts you in the role of Mario as he frantically sorts freshly baked cookies rolling off the production line. You control a cursor which can be used to slide rows of a single “square” of individual cookies in a method similar to a Rubik’s Cube. The objective is to create lines of matching cookies, which are then cleared off the screen. In adventure mode the objective is just to last as long as possible, while in puzzle mode the screen must be cleared in a minimum number of moves. Play solo through 100 challenging levels or take on a friend in the simultaneous two-player mode.

Bases Loaded on NESBases Loaded (NES, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points = $5): This baseball arcade game by Jaleco was released in 1988 in the U.S. The game allows the player to control one of 12 teams in either a single game or a full season and set your lineup from 30 players available with each different strengths. For single games, there is also a two-player option. Bases Loaded features a unique television-style depiction of the pitcher-batter matchup with different viewpoints, as well as strong play control and a relatively high degree of realism, which made it one of the most popular baseball games of the early NES.
