Nintendo has released an extensive list of all it’s Wii and DS titles (first party published only) that have sold over 1 million copies, and boy is it quite the list with lots of titles clocking in way over the one million mark, which is always impressive, although it’s expected of Nintendo by now.
The biggest news out of the two lists is just how much people love both Wii Sports and Nintendogs. Both games for their respective Wii and DS systems have sold over 17 million copies worldwide! Although this is no doubt a cause of the games being bundled in with the hardware, it’s still an impressive figure. Of course Wii Play is also up there with a little over 9 million copies sold. Followed closely by Mario himself with 5 million plus.
On the DS side, Pokemon proves that it is still a force to be reckoned with havin totaled 14 million plus copies for both Diamond and Pearl versions. That is followed by New Super Mario Bros. with 13 million and then both Brain Age titles, with 11 million for the first and 9 million for Brain Age 2 (The Wii also got in on the Brain Training action with Big Brain Academy selling 2 million copies).
It’s also encouraging to see that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Link’s Crossbow Training and Super Paper Mario sold well. And Wii Fit, which hasn’t even been released outside of Japan, was a huge hit in the motherland having already sold a million copies there to make the chart. I wonder how it’ll fair outside Japan . . .
