Unreal Tournament 3 announced for the Mac in early 2008

Unreal Tournament 3 for PCMacSoft has announced the Macintosh version of Unreal Tournament 3. Licensed by Midway Home Entertainment and developed by Epic Games, Unreal Tournament 3’s frantic gameplay and stunning visuals, new vehicles and new weapons are promised to be faithfully ported over from the PC version. The Mac version’s release date is set for early 2008. That’s the same estimate date of the Xbox 360 version by the way, since the PC and PS3 versions were the only ones released in 2007 and didn’t do so well for themselves, so hopefully next year’s ports will be more successful.

“MacSoft couldn’t be happier to bring Unreal Tournament 3’s insane fast-paced action and brutal weaponry to the Mac,” said Peter Tamte, president of MacSoft parent company Destineer. “We have a long history of bringing the Unreal series to Mac gamers, and with its expanded campaign mode and killer vehicles, Unreal Tournament 3 is the biggest, best and bloodiest game in the series yet.”

Created with the groundbreaking Unreal Engine 3, Unreal Tournament 3 looks pretty, promises an enhanced single-player mode with a branching mission structure and intelligent enemy AI. It also features new gameplay modes like Unreal Warfare, two distinct vehicle rosters including devastating machines like the Necris DarkWalker and all new gadgets like the hoverboard and grappling beam. “The what now?” you ask, yes lots of big guns and big muscle vehicles as you can see…
