New Wii peripherals include wireless Classic Controller and 2-in-1 Combined Light Gun

The wireless Wii Classic Controller
Two new Wii 3rd-party peripherals are coming and both of them clear up some obvious drawbacks (or flaws, depending on how you look at it) with the official ones.

First up is a Wireless Classic Controller. One of the worst aspects of Nintendo’s official Classic Controller is the fact that it needs to be plugged in to the port on the bottom of the Wii Remote before you can use it. Why it is not just wireless like the Wii remote is beyond me. This means that you have a dangling Wii remote when you play with it, which can be very annoying. So here comes Thrustmaster to save the day! Their Classic Controller is officially named the “T-Wireless NW” and as it’s name states, it’s 100% wireless. But in order for it to be so you have to plug an adapter into a GameCube controller port, but that’s hardly a bad trade-off for wireless freedom (up to 30 feet). The controller also offers slow and turbo buttons. The best part however is the price, at only $19.99, it’s the same as the real deal. Can’t beat that.

Next up is the Wii 2-in-1 Lightgun. For those who though the official Nintendo Wii Zapper was either too ugly or didn’t look cool enough (i.e., you’d prefer a pistol or shotgun to a tommy gun-style design), this is for you. Courtesy of the Brando Workshop in the UK, this Wii accessory shell (that you fit the Wii Remote and Nunchuck into as with the Zapper) has the very cool ability to actually detach the Nunchuck part, leaving you with just the Wii Remote gun, which is shaped like a pistol. Very cool indeed. Except this one is a little bit pricey at $18 and it does NOT include Link’s Crossbow Training. The Wii 2-in-1 Lightgun is available now for order from the Brando web-site.
