Want to see the Shot Confidence and other new features in effect, watch as the game’s producer explains on video.

The game starts you out with a nice Practice Mode, which is available in every game mode except for Skills 18. If you just want to play a game, then Play Now is the mode for you to get a quick game to your own specifications going. You setup your profile by making your character in the My Face menu. The meat of the game comes in the My Career mode that includes lots of challenges like the Tiger Challenge, PGA Tour Season, and Fedexcup/Fedexcup Playoffs.

You’ve also got your multiplayer game types. It starts with the Traditional ones like Stroke Play, Match Play, Bloodsome, Greensome, Skins Alternate Shot, but new types are Strableford, Best Ball, and Four Ball. Mini-games include Target, T-I-G-E-R, Capture, Target2Target, and new here is MiniPutt also called Miniature Golf. Arcade games include Battle Golf, One-Ball, Team One-Ball, Skills 18, and new is Elimination Mode.

The three modes of play are the classic Full Swing mode, a new Sitting Swing mode for the Wii motion controls, and a Classic mode for when you attach the nunchuk for original analog controls. If you don’t mind missing out on the better graphics of the Xbox 360, PS3 & PC versions, then the realistic Full Swing mode controls of the Wii version are the way to go as it allows you to swing that Wii remote like a real golf club. As the very easy to follow tutorial will explain, as you hold B and swing your club back and forth, you can even twist the remote to the left or right to accomplish fade and draw shots.

In conclusion: It’s a good golf game, not great, but it’s the best you’ll find on Wii and thus beats Super Swing Golf and Wii Sports Golf. Now let’s rate this game on its fun-basis.

FUN FACTOR – 7.3
It’s more of the same from this yearly franchise, but you know what you’re getting if you liked previous games in the series, because this game has improvements in nearly every mode.

Graphics – 7.0
Simple graphics make this feel like a PS2 port, which it probably is, but the Wii can do so much more, if it’s better graphics you want look at the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC versions that score higher here.

Audio – 7.0
The same sound effects as in previous Tiger Woods games give this a bit of a remake feeling. The announcers are great to have and sounds in the surroundings help create a good golf course feelings.

Ingenuity – 8.0
The Wii motion sensors in the Remote controller are perfectly replicating a golf club and will bring golf fans lots of joy.

Replay Value – 7.0
Loads of single-player modes, tutorials for beginners, and multiplayer for up to four people including funny screen blur and other teases from opponents to mix things up. While the lack of online play can be a big minus for some, it’s a great and solid package for the avid golfer.
