TimeSplitters 4 was announced in the Official Playstation Magazine in June 2007 for PS3, but Xbox 360 or Wii versions are likely since TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters 3: Future Perfect were both multi-platform games.
TimeSplitters 4 will run on a heavily modified Haze Engine and has jokingly been given a 2009 release date by its developer. Talking to Free Radical‘s script writer, Rob Yescombe was quoted as saying: “In the past Timesplitters has been very satirical at the expense of movies, this time it will be satirical at the expense of video games.”
The current logo for the game is a spoof of the Gears of War logo with a monkey head replacing the skull. There was also some concept art for a monkey in Master Chief’s armor.
