Dino Crisis 2 was probably even more of an overlooked, but great, PS1 title than the first game.
The sequel to the original Dino Crisis, part 2 was released on September 30th 2000 and the game tipped the “survival horror” formula on it’s head and went in a completely different direction than the first game.
Instead of being a cookie-cutter Resident Evil knock-off, in the tried and true survival horror vein, Dino Crisis 2 chose instead to increase the action ten-fold and cut out the slow-paced adventure style, focusing instead on the shooting. So the game actually played more like a shooter. You would score points for killing dinosaurs (even having the ability to create combos) and you could use those points to purchase even more weapons, and there were a ton of them. You could also unlock extras depending on how many points you scored throughout the game.
