The developers at Electronic Arts are blogging about their upcoming version of Madden NFL 08 for the Nintendo DS. In their latest update, they take a look at this year’s system improvements:
New Player Models – The dev team was able to push even more detail into those guys and work on the lighting, they look great.
Tackle animations – As much as I love the old versions of Madden this is a welcome addition to the DS, you can wrap up and get some pretty big hits.
More Multiplayer – Expanded Wireless games to have 8 in one game and added Wi-Fi games. Now wherever you can get a Wi-Fi connection and a DS, you can get a game with somebody.
Redone Kicking controls – Much better this year.
Touch Controls – Player select on Defense using the touch pad and now you can pass to any spot on the field on Offense using the touch pad.
Paper Football – That’s right Paper Football, I love this mode. We used to play paper football everyday at lunch time when I was a kid, and to add it to the DS has been a treat for me. Not only is it like the game you know and love, we’ve added some nice twists you can use in the ultimate mode.
