Peter Jackson’s episodic Halo game trilogy hinted for 2008

The Halo Graphic NovelBack in September 2006 at X06 Microsoft and Bungie Studios announced a cooperation with movie director Peter Jackson and his new studio Wingnut Interactive, who plan to make two different episodic gaming series for Xbox 360. The first one will be an episodic trilogy described as a cinematic experience based on the Halo series.

Microsoft Game Studios boss Shane Kim has now hinted we could see the new interactive entertainment series, which will be the next chapter in the Halo universe, as early as next year. His response to a GI question about when we can expect the first big Xbox 360 titles to hit after 2007 was:

“With Alan Wake and Too Human, we’re just going to make sure that they’re really ready when we show them again. But we wouldn’t be talking about them if they were – let me put it this way – way out in the future. We’re not showing anything from the Halo project that we’re doing with Peter Jackson and Bungie, but I’m talking about it – it’s not going to be way out there, either.

Other exclusive first-party titles Microsoft has scheduled for release in 2008 include: Too Human, Alan Wake, Halo Wars, Fable 2, and Banjo Threeie.
