Spectrobes II has just been been revealed at E3 2007 with a release date of Fall 2008 (October 7th) for the Nintendo DS. The first Spectrobes (released by Disney Interactive) was a big hit and apparently sold enough copies to warrant a sequel.
The monster hunting RPG is similar to other titles like Pokemon or Digimon, and the game was definitely targeted at the younger set, although like most of these types of monster-capturing games they are accessible and fun for everyone.
No details on the game were announced except that it will use Disney’s new online “D Gamer” service for DS which allows for Xbox Live-like community features, including: avatars, chatting and the ability to check out friends’ unlocked achievements. Watch the cool new CG trailer for Spectrobes 2.
