UK’s Top 10 best games ever (2007 edition)

Link shoots for number 1 with Zelda: Ocarina of TimeThe latest issue of the UK games magazine Edge has a list of the best games ever as voted by its British readers. Since it’s not online, you can either pay £10 (that’s €15 or $20) for the magazine’s top 100 or be happy with the top 10 games listed below.

Here’s why they chose the timeless classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as their number 1: “Ocarina of Time is nearly ten years old, but its position at the top slot in Edge’s 100 Best Videogames shows that great game design does not age. In visual terms, it obviously cannot compete with today’s Xbox 360 and PS3 productions, but, as with many classics, its appeal is about so much more than its appearance.” — The list:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
2. Resident Evil 4 (GameCube, PS2)
3. Super Mario 64 (N64)
4. Half-Life 2 (PC)
5. Super Mario World (SNES)
6. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
7. Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox)
8. Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
