Championship Sprint arrives at the PlayStation Store. PSP firmware 3.50 enables global remote play from PS3

Championship Sprint logoRace to your PS3 this Thursday as Sony Online Entertainment will offer Midway’s Championship Sprint, for download on the PlayStation Store. Originally released in Arcades in 1986, Championship Sprint is a simplistic 2D sprint-car simulator with an overhead perspective that supports up to four simultaneous racers, either locally or online.

Championship Sprint will cost $4.99 on the PlayStation Network and is rated E for Everyone.

The list of added features in PSP firmware update 3.50 is:
* Support has been added to allow remote play [on your PSP from your PS3] over the internet in “Remote Play”.
* “RSS Channel Guide” has been added as a feature under “RSS Channel”.
* You can now start PlayStation Store downloads remotely.

Delayed to June 7th is the Resistance stuff:
* Resistance Free Update — Worldwide servers, in-game cheater reporting added, XMB support expanded. You’ll be able to see your friends list in-game on a separate tab, instead of the XMB overlay.
* Resistance Map Pack — the maps will support all multiplayer modes and there will be 8-, 16-, 32-, and 40-player versions of the maps. Price expected to be $8.
