Ridge Racer 2 for PSPEarlier in April the PSP Core Pack got a $30 price cut to $170 in America and now it’s Europe’s turn. Sony has announced a £20 / €30 price cut for the PSP Core Pack, which will retail for £129.99 in the UK and €169.99 in the rest of Europe from May 4th, 2007. The PSP Core currently still costs £149.99 / €199.99.

Sony also announced that five PSP games Ridge Racer 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Killzone: Liberation, LocoRoco and Moto GP will be the newest additions to the PSP Platinum Hits collection, this means from May 4 on each game will only cost £14.99 / €19.99.

Sony PlayStation Portable“PSP is unique and is constantly evolving. It offers the widest palette of mobile entertainment, from gaming to video, music, photos and Internet. But now the exciting possibility of connecting remotely to PlayStation 3 makes PSP more relevant than ever. So what better time to offer a brand new price point, and the launch of five new Platinum titles?” said SCE UK managing director Ray Maguire.

I’d like to answer Ray’s question by saying “include a 1GB memory stick and it’s worth it.” After all, if you want to get the most out of your PSP’s media capabilities like playing music and videos, let alone save your game progress, you’ll need a memory stick (pro duo) which is not included in the PSP Core Pack.
