Perfect Dark: Zero 2 sequel, not Perfect Dark 2, hinted

Perfect Dark: Zero for Xbox 360Xbox 360 launch game Perfect Dark: Zero is said to be getting a sequel, according to a Perfect Dark: Zero book series press release that hints at the new game. It’s not Perfect Dark 2, so do we still call it a sequel or is it a pre-sequel-whatsamathingy?

To quote the May edition of OXM magazine’s Rumour Mole section: “The Mole’s pals in the book industry have tipped us off to a sequel to Perfect Dark Zero by way of a press release announcing the next novel in the paperback series that also mentions a follow-up to the game…”

Perfect Dark: Second Front bookThe books Perfect Dark: Initial Vector and Perfect Dark: Second Front take place 6 months after the Xbox 360 game Perfect Dark Zero and follow Joanna Dark’s further adventures. The third (unnamed) book in the novel series written by Greg Rucka will appear later this year.

Xboxic says there was never any doubt in Perfect Dark: Zero getting a sequel. Hopes are high that Rare will be able to spend more time on the new game to improve it (faster walking please) over the original launch title, which wasn’t bad, but was overshadowed by fellow-FPS Call of Duty 2.
