The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu Weekly has revealed Tecmo’s Team Ninja are working on a new Ninja Gaiden game for the Nintendo DS.
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is not a 2D side-scroller, but instead a 3D, top-down viewed, action-adventure game. It will mainly be controlled through the stylus (tap a direction to go there, double-tap to jump, draw a symbol to do attacks like Ninjutsu), with the exception of a blocking button. Added to this is the fact that you’ll hold your DS (Lite) like a book to play the game, this is done because otherwise the main character Ryu would’ve taken up most of the screen. — Thanks to Neogaf for the scans/translation.
PS: The magazine also mentions a Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 demo will come out on the PlayStation Network on April 27th in Japan, hopefully that’ll become a worldwide demo.
