Sony announces its PS3 Home online plans. Watch the video tour! Launch in autumn 2007

Sony PlayStation 3Sony Worldwide Studios president Phil Harrison has held his Game Developers Conference keynote address in San Francisco, USA. Titled “Game 3.0” he talked about Sony’s upcoming video games and their PS3 Home online plans for the PlayStation 3.

PS3 Home is an avatar-based achievement system for the online PlayStation community. This is Sony’s answer to Xbox 360’s Xbox Live and the Wii’s Connect 24.

Looks like (download) gaming and other multimedia are coming together nicely in a very customizable 3D virtual world community surround your PS3 Home. — The beta starts in April, and it’s all launching in autumn 2007. Future updates will include more sophisticated clothing and pets!
