Ubisoft today announced that Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent will be released worldwide in time for the March European launch of the PS3. That means that after Xbox 360, Xbox, GameCube, Wii, PC and PS2 gamers, PS3 owners will be playing Sam Fisher’s fourth game in the first two weeks of March 2007.
More than a port, additional features include: New multiplayer maps and skins, and the PS3 version takes advantage of the SixAxis controller. And while they didn’t say how the PS3 motion-sensitive controller will be used, you can bet it’ll be similar to the Wii version where you have to twist and turn the controller to open locks and such.
“Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent is already a best-seller and has set a new standard for the Splinter Cell series,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO at Ubisoft. “I am sure that Double Agent will prove to be a must-have title for PlayStation 3 system.”
