68 Million Final Fantasy games have been sold worldwide

Final Fantasy XIISquare Enix today announced that it shipped 1.5 million copies of their latest PS2 game Final Fantasy XII in the USA on October 31, 2006. This set a new initial shipment record for the RPG-centric company. The game is already a large hit in Japan, with over 2.4 million units sold since March 16, 2006.This also means that 68 million Final Fantasy games have been sold worldwide and counting!

Final Fantasy XII is available now on the PS2 for $49.99, with a Collector’s Edition retailing for $59.99 at EB Games/GameStop. Final Fantasy XII Day was declared on October 11, 2006 in New York City to celebrate the release of the game.
