An updated version of the Fall Update is now available on Xbox Live which has elminated issues relating to new or refurbished consoles failing after applying Monday’s Fall Update. As some users reported getting “error code E71” resulting in the “red ring of death”.
If you’ve already applied the Fall Update and are seeing an error message, you should call your local Xbox Support telephone number (1-800-4-MY-XBOX in the US and Canada) to get things fixed before Gears of War and Viva Pinata come out. 😉 If you’ve already done the update and it’s working, you won’t be prompted for another, because it was only a problem at the installation screen that affected less than 1% of users.
