Resistance: Fall of Man, the 22 gigabytes PS3 launch game

Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games (Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank) just started a new blog for their Sony PS3 exclusive launch game Resistance: Fall of Man.

On the blog he talks about the sci-fi FPS game’s progress in the last months before launch this November 17th, 2006. As well as trying to avoid a PS3 Versus Xbox 360 debate, but admitting that they’ve been working directly or indirectly with Sony for over 10 years now.

What’s more interesting though, is that he confirms they are using more than 20 gigabytes of the PS3’s Blu-ray disc. A spokesperson for the company said it’s actually almost 22 gigabytes of data. The capacity of a normal Blu-ray disc is 25GB. The spokesman also stated that nearly 1 gigabyte of the 22 is for audio and voiceovers, with the other 21 gigabytes for the game, graphics, HD movies, etc. Watch the trailer:
