The latest issue of Famitsu reveals Hudson will be bringing Lode Runner to the DS, with new modes of play like a puzzle mode which does away with enemies and a time limit, as well as adding updated visuals. No release date was announced outside Japan (on October 26th). The game will include different Lode Runner games, including Championship Lode Runner, according to IGN.
The DS’s top screen is used to show a full map of the level, with all the action taking place on the bottom screen; it’s unknown if you’ll be able to use the stylus for controls. Some modes look like the original NES game, while others have been updated to DS level. There’s even a game sharing option.
