Mass Effect 2 Special Collectors Edition revealed
Bioware has announced Mass Effect 2: Special Collector’s Edition, which will release alongside the normal edition of the game on January 26, 2010 (January 29 in Europe) for Xbox 360 and PC. It will cost $70 on Xbox 360 and $60 on PC.
So what comes with this collector’s edition? Nothing too out of the ordinary but it should still keep fans happy.
Here is what comes in the Special Edition package:
* Premium Tin Case.
* 28-Page hardcover “Art of Mass Effect 2″ book.
* Issue #1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book.
* Bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes “The Making of Mass Effect 2″ videos.
* Exclusive in-game weapons and armor.
“We’re really excited to roll out this Collectors’ Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors’ Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. “The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.”
The Mass Effect trilogy is an emotionally charged science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious, uncharted planets. In Mass Effect 2, players will once again step into the role of the heroic Commander Shepard, commanding their crew of some of the most dangerous operatives from across the galaxy on a mission so challenging that it’s potentially suicidal. LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues has a cast of over 10 characters taken from all of the Indiana Jones movies, including the latest Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film.
The game will be released on Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, PC and iPhone on November 17, 2009. In addition to featuring a full-on level creator for the first time, it will also feature a split-screen view for the cooperative play. The game will also include all-new levels based on the original trilogy with no recycled levels from the first game. Which if you haven’t played the original, I highly recommend it as stated in my Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures review.

Download a free Wallace and Gromit game episode on series’ 20th anniversary!
Wallace & Gromit is celebrating its 20th anniversary by allowing fans to download a FREE Wallace & Gromit episode of the popular adventure series. The episode in question is “Muzzled” and this offer will be available until Monday, November 9th.
In the “Muzzled!” episode, town newcomer Monty Muzzle, is holding a fundraiser to rebuild the local dog shelter. Gromit soon realizes that Muzzle’s intentions aren’t exactly charitable and he must foil the huckster’s plot to save the town’s investment and rescue his canine friends.
Additionally, the full four-episode PC season of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will be discounted to $20 (roughly 12 GBP) from $34.95 USD for these same dates in honor of the eccentric inventor and his canine companion’s two decade milestone.
And that’s not all, there is also these pieces of the celebration puzzle:
-XBLA Launch - For the first time, all four episodes of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade November 4, selling for 800 Microsoft Points each. The episodes, along with a premium theme and new gamer pics, will be available on a special Wallace & Gromit branded destination page on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
-Charity Drive - From November 4-8, Telltale is partnering with Wallace & Gromit Children’s Foundation and Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play, making donations to the charities for each full Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures PC season purchased. Telltale is also giving away free digital versions of the games to the children’s hospitals supported by the charities.
-Collector’s DVD - Order taking begins November 4 for the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures full season collector’s DVD for PC, which features all four episodes, behind the scenes videos, Aardman Animation’s Cracking Contraptions animated shorts, game trailers and full galleries from the making of the game, which include never-before-seen concept art!

Modern Warfare 2 breaks GameStop pre-order sales record
It’s official. Modern Warfare 2 has broken the record as the most pre-ordered game in the history of GameStop. That’s quite a feat.
And we still have a little under a week to go before the game launches on November 10th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
To quote GameStop’s executive vice president for merchandising and marketing Tony Bartel, in speaking with USA Today:
“By all indicators, we anticipate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time,” he said. “As of today, the number of preorder reservations we’ve taken for the game is the highest for any title we’ve ever sold in our 6,200 store network.”
This also, by extension, makes Modern Warfare 2 the most pre-ordered game in Activision’s history, which the company announced last August.
And likely contributing to the high number of pre-orders are the incentives you get for reserving the game at GameStop, including a girth of various prizes that include a Hummer H2, Polaris snowmobile, and Ducati motorcycle.
