If that’s not enough, reach maximum velocity as you tackle a skydiving lesson at 3,800 feet. Complete specific objectives within a set time limit to score points (and maybe even a bonus chance) and obtain certification in eight different lessons. Your goals will become more challenging, and weather conditions will make controlling your vehicle more difficult as you progress. R.U.S.E. has a release date of February 2, 2010 and will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
R.U.S.E. promises a very unique spin on the real-time strategy genre by giving a boardgame-style approach to the RTS, which allows users to bluff their opponents and completely control their view of the action. The viewpoint can be shifted seamlessly from the heart of the battlefield to the full theater of war.
It also has a highly stylized presentation that is both artistically and visually pleasing while also being easy to use and offering lots of depth tactically.
The whole idea behind the game is to make the player literally feel like a general moving the pieces on the battlefield into their positions, as if you were playing a boardgame that was real. The “pieces” on the field literally go from being icons to morphing before your eyes into actual gears of war. The game also has a full online multiplayer support.
Here is a trailer for the game.
Key features of R.U.S.E. include:
* Become the master of deception: Fight a war of perception using recon units & your spying network to gather intelligence on your enemy and then strike at his Achilles heel! Use overturning deception skills to mislead your enemy: decoys, camouflage, radio silence, deciphering, intoxication… Combine military maneuvers & cunning stratagems for victory: your brains are the ultimate weapon! From captain to the chief in command, live an epic campaign full of manipulation, jealousy & betrayal!
* Experience War as a Strategist: Command a huge spectrum of units : dozens of infantry, vehicles & aircraft units with specific abilities. Wield executive power : secure revenues, plan units production & launch advanced research programs. Undermine the enemy strategy by cutting its supply lines & weakening its logistics. Use the exclusive IRISZOOM engine as the most intuitive interface to easily identify the balance of power and run into action. Fight on immense & incredibly detailed maps, the biggest in a RTS: a perfect playground for strategy!
* Fooling real people is the ultimate thrill: Test your strategic skills with fast-paced, addictive cooperative & adversarial skirmishes, up to 8 players. Face unpredictable battle situations & reverse the balance of power by using bluff and deception against your opponents. Choose your nation between 6 Axis or Allied powers with specific units & abilities.

Still think that the iPhone/iPod Touch isn’t a legitimate videogame handheld contender?
An article by Tom’s Hardware discusses how someone has worked the Unreal Engine 3 tech to get it up and running on the powerhouse portable!
This could be huge news for the platform, as it would allow games ever closer to the modern crop of consoles to be playable on the little device.
Here is video evidence:
To quote from the article:
“The Unreal Engine has successfully cracked into the console space in a big way. Now the games engine, once exclusively a PC-based engine, is powering many blockbuster titles on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Now the Unreal Engine 3 has made its way to the iPhone.”

The new Nintendo Week episode for Christmas Day reenacts A Holiday Carol.
Part 1 shows Super Smash Bros (out this week), Pilotwings for Virtual Console (out next week?) and includes The Legendary Starfy, Fossil Fighters and a terrible song.
Part 2 features Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Glory of Hercules, but will Dark Gary’s “Bah, humbug!” attitude ever change?
Thanks to Daan for uploading this episode, image courtesy of Wiinintendo.

Hi all! Us at VGB wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas! Have a happy holiday with family, friends and hopefully lots of videogame presents and gaming!
We put together two Christmas-themed game songs in this update in case you got sick of hearing the “I Wish You A Merry Christmas” song everywhere.
The fictional band from Left 4 Dead 2 just got real. How it came to be: “In 1987, the Midnight Riders were asked to participate in a children’s charity Christmas album with their rock peers. The Riders refused. In a 1993 Guitar God Magazine, Dusty explained: “Givin’ kids charity just makes ‘em weak, man. Teach a kid to fish, he can eat fish his whole life. Teach a kid NOT to fish, he starves to death. Where I come from that’s murder, Homes.” The following year, the Riders grudgingly agreed to participate in a 1998 Christmas album in exchange for not having to do 30,000 hours of community service. “All I Want For Christmas is to Kick Your Ass” was written, recorded and mailed in less than one hour.”
Let’s hope the self-proclaimed Greatest Southern Rock Supergroup of All Time survived the green flu. Listen to the Valve release of the festive “All I Want For Christmas is to Kick Your Ass” bikers song.
The Dante’s Inferno Christmas Trailer announced the demo — previously released on PS3 — is now also available on Xbox 360 in time for Christmas Day terror. The Gates of Hell demo lets you “Discover an epic adventure based on the first part of Dante Alighieri’s masterpiece, “The Divine Comedy”. Playing as Dante, you must defeat Death and arm yourself with his scythe as you prepare to descend into the nine circles of Hell and rescue the soul of your beloved Beatrice from Lucifer himself.”
Electronic Arts has sent out a “12 Days of Christmas” parody music video featuring Dante’s Inferno entitled the “The Worst Days of Christmas”.
Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced what new PlayStation Network downloadable games, expansions, demos and videos were released for PlayStation 3 and PSP today in America and Europe.

No More Heroes 2 has a release date of January 26th, 2010 in North America and February or March 2010 in Europe; exclusively for the Wii.
The sequel to the cult-hit original, an open-world action game of extremely wacky, Japanese, anime-inspired design, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle continues the tale of punk anti-hero Travis Touchdown.
An Japanese anime Otaku, and pro wrestling-obsessed assassin, Travis finds himself at the bottom of the UAA (United Assassins Association) rankings and must wage war to become the No. 1 assassin once again.
This follow-up promises offer fans “infectious, fun gameplay that allows you to wield not just one, but two swords and face multiple bosses simultaneously in bigger-than-ever boss battles.” The game will contain much more varied sidequests that are more important to the plot, will have an upgraded driving system and better combat with more moves, the AI is improved along with the physics, there will be much more boss fights and “gang boss fights”.
Probably more important to fans, Travis will have access to four different Beam weapons, and both Shinobu and Henry will be playable at some point in the game.
Here is a trailer showing Henry’s kick-assery.
And here’s the original debut trailer.

There are no less than 17 characters in the Darksiders cast for THQ’s apocalyptic action game; Which releases for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 5, 2010.
Here is the list of both good and evil characters in the game:
1. In the world of Darksiders, Abbaddon is an Angel who lead the forces of Heaven against the forces of Hell at the beginning of the apocalypse. However when he was killed, the portal back to Heaven shut, leaving the rest of his angelic soldiers cut off from Heaven. Thus they roam the skies of the chaotic world in a vengeful fury, randomly attacking demons (as well as your character of War). In the Bible Abbaddon is one of the named Demons.
2. Death is one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Wielding the famous Scythe weapon, which here is named “The Harvester”, Death has the typical look of a black robe/cloak and a skeleton body. He is also known as the Grim Reaper. The whereabouts of Death within Darksiders are unknown . . .
3. Fury is one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Or in this case, Horsewoman. Replacing the traditional “Conquest” Horseman, Fury weilds a whip made of fire. The whereabouts of Fury within Darksiders are unknown . . .
