Unlockable Multiplayer Characters & Weapons

Pre-order Bonuses: The availability for all these pre-order DLC items varies by country, make sure to check your local retailers.

Microsoft has announced the Brothers to the End Elite Gear Pack, a new pre-order bonus included in all editions of Gears of War 4. This pack pays homage to some of the most beloved characters from the Gears of War universe, and extends the tradition of offering gold weapons to day one players.

New and current Gears of War 4 pre-order customers will receive these unique characters.

“Tomorrow Anya” is named after her famous words following the end of the Locust War (“Tomorrow Marcus. We finally have a tomorrow.”) Her appearance is based on her look in the Gears of War 4 television commercial, “Tomorrow,” where she was introduced as the mother of JD Fenix.

• “Old Man Marcus” features an older Marcus Fenix as unveiled in the E3 2016 media briefing demo. Twenty-five years after the Locust War, Marcus and the COG have long since parted ways. His facial hair has grown long and his COG regulation kit has been replaced with by civilian clothes.

“Zombie Dom” proves there’s no keeping a good soldier down, at least in the form of this character skin created as tribute to Marcus’ dearly departed best friend Dominic Santiago.
The Elite Gear pack also includes the “Gold Wave Lancer & Gold Wave Gnasher” — updated versions of the gold weapon skins awarded to the series’ most-dedicated day one players.

“Vintage Del” is for all new and current pre-order customers, who will receive the previously announced Vintage Del Pack, which includes the Vintage Del character model and retailer-specific bonus items, including unique weapon skins.

“Vintage Reyna” is yours if you pre-order your copy of Gears of War 4 at GameStop / EB Games (retailer exclusivity depends on your country) and receive a Physical Gear Pack* and the Vintage Reyna character when you purchase the game at launch.
Physical Gear Packs* bring the Cards from Gears of War 4 into the real world! Part collector’s item, part in-game weapon unlocks, these Gear Packs unlock digital content while providing your own physical version of the card to keep in your gaming collection. The Vintage Del Elite Gear Pack includes the Vintage Del character, the unique “Hot Rod Gnasher and Foam Lancer” weapon skins and six bounty cards. The latter give you a chance to get either versus bounty XP, buffs, emblems, avatar clothes, and other cosmetic items.

*Check out Gears Of War 4’s Physical Gear Packs weapon skin variations that you have a chance to get via GameStop in this trailer. This content comes via download codes on the physical cards.

How To Unlock Card Codes: You can redeem the 25 character codes you get from the bottom of these physical cards at Gearsofwar.com. Or follow these claim instructions… Whether you are playing on Xbox or PC, both of these methods will entitle the unlock for both platforms.

How To Get More Card Items In-Game: Outside of the above-mentioned pre-order bonus, most Cards are actually earned through Gear Packs, which can be purchased with an in-game currency called Credits. Credits are earned by simply playing the game in any online based Multiplayer Mode, including Horde, and provide you with the freedom to spend Credits on the pack theme that best suits your needs.

For players with less spare time or looking to grow the Card Collection quickly, Gear Packs can also be purchased with real world currency.

As a bonus, almost every Card in the game can be destroyed for Scrap*. Scrap can be used to create another card that you desire without having to find it in a Gear Pack, allowing you to turn unwanted Cards into a Card you’ve always wanted.

*Gears of War 4 has a new Card creation system, allowing you to use a special creation only currency – Scrap – to create the Card you’ve always wanted.

Any unwanted Cards can be destroyed, turning them into the Scrap currency – the higher the rarity, the more Scrap is earned from destroying the card. Almost every card in the game can be Created – just like with destroying, the higher the rarity, the more Scrap the card will cost to create. Once you have enough Scrap, you can directly acquire the Card you’ve been hunting for!

This system means that every card you acquire, even if it’s not of personal interest to you, can have value towards building the collection of cards that you desire.

This video shows your chances for good Card Items when opening up 19 Gear Packs, including 5 Elite Packs.
