Pokemon Go: How To Catch All 151 Wild Pokemon

Find out in Pokemon Go how to catch all 151 Wild Pokemon! We also show a full list of all Rare Pokemon & Legendary Pokemon and how to get them in Pokémon Go. 😀

Outside of throwing out Lure Modules and Incense, the catching methods detailed below include how to track nearby Pokemon by Type locations, which Pokemon you can get by hatching Pokemon Eggs, and how much Candy you need to evolve certain Pokemon into new Pokemon.

Pokemon Go: How To Catch All 151 Wild Pokemon

Catching Method #1: How to track “Nearby” Wild Pokemon is explained in this video guide by showing you how to walk South, North or East towards the specific Pokemon you’re looking for by keeping an eye on if it moves its spot in the list, which means you’re not directly walking towards it. The “Nearby” Pokeball menu shows the 9 that are near you and also indicates with no steps that you’re on top of the Pokemon, with 1 step it’s less than 10 meters away, with 2 steps it’s less than 100 meters away, and with 3 steps it’s within 1 kilometer. Just make sure to tap on the “Nearby” Pokeball menu’s type of Pokemon that you want to highlight it on the map to make it easier to find.

Additionally, in the full Pokemon list below you can find out what Type each Pokemon is, since it’ll come in handy with Water Type Pokemon appearing near all bodies of water like rivers, lakes & oceans, whereas Ice Types are at beaches & other watery areas, Grass, Bug, Flying & Grass Types of Pokemon appear around parks, forests & open field green areas, Fire Type in residential areas, and then there’s Normal Types that are in crowded areas like malls, parking lots, schools & parks.

Catching Method #2: One of the best ways to get new and rare Pokemon in Pokemon Go is by hatching Pokemon Eggs. You’ll need to walk or bicycle at a speed of under 25 kilometers/hour or 15 miles/hour for 2, 5 or 10 kilometers (depending on the Egg) to hatch an Egg after putting them in an Egg Incubator. An Incubator can only be used only 3 times (except for the first one you always get that has infinite uses), and you can only fill 9 Incubators at the same time.

This next video guide provides tips to make the process faster and easier as well as list which Eggs will hatch which Pokemon. – Note that Ditto, Legendary Pokemon & Pokemon evolutions cannot be hatched in Pokemon Eggs.

Catching Method #3: Pokemon that evolve need a certain amount of their Pokemon’s Candy evolve that Pokemon into a new Pokemon. To get that Pokemon’s Candies catch the same Pokemon repeatedly and send it back to the Professor to receive Stardust & 3 Candies. Different Pokemon require different amounts of Candy to evolve, from 12, 25, 50, 100, up to high as 400 to evolve Magikarp into Gyarados!

The topic of candies is discussed at 5:10 minutes into this video guide that also covers all other basic Pokemon starter tips.

Once you get far enough away from the 3 Starter Pokemon they will re-appear around you on-screen, now keep walking away from them until they re-appear around you again and keep doing this a few more times. Eventually the 3 Starter Pokemon will re-appear with a 4th Starter Pokemon alongside them, now you can select Pikachu as your starter!
