Kill Strain, the free-to-play, top-down, twin-stick action shooter from SIE San Diego Studio, will launch for PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store on July 19 in North America and Europe, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced. PlayStation Plus members will gain early access on July 12.

The online multiplayer game sees three teams pitted against each other for domination. Two teams of five players battle to contain and control a mysterious and powerful energy source code-named “The Strain,” as two additional players take on the roles of mutants, who are endowed with additional abilities when in contact with The Strain.
Kill Strain is currently in Limited Access. Sony will be sending out a “substantial wave” of additional invites to Limited Access from June 29 to July 3, and sign-ups are still available. A final account wipe will be done on June 28 to get ready for the new users and full release. All users who level up to 20 on or before Monday, July 4 at 11:59 p.m. PDT will be automatically rewarded at the close of Limited Access “The Vanguard Vincent” exclusive in-game item.
