Rock Band VR Exclusive to Oculus Rift. Coming at Rift Launch from Harmonix In 2016

Rock Band VR is the megaton Oculus Rift announcement that was made by Rift creator Palmer Luckey himself at the 2015 Video Game Awards.

Check out the announcement and this funny trailer featuring Dragon Force for Rock Band VR.

As indicated by the video, the members of British metal band “DragonForce” (infamous for having the hardest official song in 2007’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock) have directly collaborated on this project with original Rock Band developers Harmonix, along with Oculus’ own “Oculus Studios”; In order to create the most authentic rock band experience we’ve yet seen.

Together they are promising a VR experience that will make you truly feel like a true rocker for the first time.

This includes the ability to not only see out to the crowd in front of you while within virtual reality space, but also to look and see the drummer behind you and the other band members as if you are really on-stage with your bandmates performing.

Exactly how the game will play is unknown.

Will it use a Rock Band guitar? Or will the game somehow use air guitar or the Oculus Touch controller? I’m sure we’ll find out soon.

Here’s Palmer Luckey introducing Rock Band VR on-stage at the 2015 Game Awards.

Rock Band VR could potentially be HUGE.

In order for VR to truly take off, it is going to need a mainstream name/brand to sell it to normal, everyday people. Both gamers and non-gamers alike.

Rock Band VR COULD be the game that does it!

Things are getting really interesting with this announcement….

I can’t wait to see how it actually looks and plays in person in early 2016!

What do you think about Rock Band VR? Do you think it’s a game changer?
