Batman: A TellTale Games Series Announced

Batman: A TellTale Games Series is coming in 2016 as was announced at the Game Awards 2015, where we saw the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Adventure Game.

Here is the announcement for this all-new Telltale Batman experience!

This new Batman game is coming from TellTale, the same developers who made the Game of the Year, critically acclaimed, award-winning “TellTale’s The Walking Dead” Adventure Game. They are also the studio behind other fantastic adventure games including: “The Wolf Among Us”, “Tales from Borderlands”, “Telltale’s Jurassic Park: The Game”, “TellTale’s Game of Thrones”, “Telltale’s Back to the Future: The Game”, “Tales of Monkey Island”,“Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People”, “Telltale’s Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse”, “Telltale’s Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures”, “Puzzle Agent 2” and many more.

Like the above, the new TellTale Batman will be an episodic adventure game, and has been officially announced for PC & Mac, Xbox One & PS4, and unspecified “home console” & “mobile device” platforms.

Absolutely no details have been announced regarding TellTale Batman, but the developers did have this to say.

“At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”

TellTale will be developing, with Warner Bros. publishing & DC Comics collaborating.

“Telltale has an established track record of creating award-winning content for some of the best properties in the world,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “We look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman.”
TellTale Batman?!

HOLY. COW.

Now this will be a match made in Heaven.

I’m surprised that we have seen so few comicbook Adventure Games from big studios.

Perhaps this will be the start of a new trend.

When you think about it, Adventure Games really are the perfect genre to tell superhero stories, as they are more readily interactive & geared towards storytelling than other videogame genres…. Making them a perfect reinterpretation of the comicbook medium.

I hope they do Superman next…. Superman needs more love!

How excited are you about the prospects of a Telltale Batman?!
