Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam has been given a release date exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. It will be released in Europe & Australia this year, on 4th December & 10th December, 2015, respectively. Japan got the game on December 3rd. Paper Jam is known as “Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros.” across PAL territories.

Paper Jam marks the fifth entry in the long-running Mario & Luigi RPG series developed by Alpha Dream. However it is the first Mario & Luigi game to mix characters from the “Paper Mario” series into the Mario & Luigi series, offering the best of both worlds!
Paper Jam introduces new elements: Paper Mario, a giant rideable Papercraft Mario, Battle Cards & Amiibo support, which unlocks Character Cards based on classic Nintendo characters!
New elements that players can expect in Paper Jam, include the addition of a third playable character: Paper Mario! Paper Mario offers the bros. new abilities, such as the ability to turn into a Paper Airplane and glide to reach new areas, and the ability to fit between small cracks due to his flat nature.
In battle, Paper Mario gives the bros. a whole host of new attacks, including the ability to copy himself, Agent Smith-style! (Or should I say…. Smith-Luigi-style like in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team!). You even get to ride a GIANT “PAPERCRAFT MARIO” statue to smash your enemies!
One of the newest elements added to the game is the addition of “Battle Cards”. These Cards have various effects that can be used in battle. They can damage enemies, increase your coin haul, lower an enemy’s level, power-up attacks and much more.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam also marks the first Mario & Luigi game, and the first Mario RPG title, to support Amiibo!
Tap one of the Mario Series Amiibo to your New 3DS/NFC Reader to unlock a whole host of new Battle Character Cards. These Cards are way more powerful than normal Cards, and have all kinds of very cool artwork based on classic & iconic Nintendo characters like “Tanooki Stone Statue Mario”, “8bit Mario”, “Bee Luigi”, “Woolly World Plush Yoshi” & “Dream Team Luigi”. And many of these Cards consist of other Mario franchises like “Mario Kart”, “Yoshi”, “Captain Toad” & “New Super Mario Bros.”

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam looks absolutely awesome!
I love the idea of combining Paper Mario with Mario & Luigi; two of the best RPG franchises in the gaming world.
It’s a great idea, and PaperCraft Mario is ingenious!
If Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, is anywhere near as amazing as “Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story” and “Mario & Luigi: Dream Team”, then RPG fans are in for one HECK of a treat!

Of course, it’s hard to follow-up on the ingenious twists that the last two Mario & Luigi titles offered: Going inside of Bowser & having him playable, and going inside of Luigi’s psychedelic dreams!
Mario & Luigi: Partner’s in Time added Baby Mario & Baby Luigi, and now we have Paper Mario.
I didn’t think the series could get more innovative… Although I’m not yet convinced that Paper Mario will top Bowser’s Insides/Luigi’s Dreams; but it’s definitely a unique twist that NO ONE saw coming!
