Far Cry 5: Primal Announced

Ubisoft have been teasing what their next game will be on Youtube throughout the day, until IGN Turkey not so subtly leaked the announcement on Twitter (with the screenshot shown above) that the game in question is Far Cry 5: Primal!

You can see Ubisoft’s Youtube livestream video of a “prehistoric cave painting” online here:

“Far Cry Primal” is rumored to be set in the Ice Age, rumors further suggest you can expect to see woolly mammoths, tigers, and other prehistorical animals (dinosaurs have not yet been confirmed). It may also include tribal combat using bows and spears.

Note: Although “Far Cry Primal” may not be Far Cry 5, but rather a spin-off like Far Cry: Blood Dragon.

Speaking of which, I was kind of hoping the next Far Cry game would be the second Far Cry: Blood Dragon spin-off rumored to be titled “Blood Dragon 3: Vietnam War 2” that leaked artwork (seeing a pattern here?) suggests the Aliens, Robocop, and Star Ship Troopers universes clashing!

UPDATE OCTOBER 6: Ubisoft has made it official, saying: “Discover Far Cry at the Stone Age. The award-winning Far Cry franchise that stormed the tropics and the Himalayas now enters the original fight for humanity’s survival with its innovative open-world sandbox gameplay, bringing together massive beasts, breathtaking environments, and unpredictable savage encounters.

Far Cry Primal will be available on PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and PC, coming out 23rd of February 2016. PC release on March 2016.”
